President Donald Trump stated on Saturday that america had captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his spouse, Cilia Flores, following a “large-scale strike” on Venezuela.
Lawyer Common Pamela Bondi has stated that Maduro and Flores have now been indicted within the Southern District of New York.
Maduro was charged with medication and weapons offenses, Bondi stated, including that they might “quickly face the complete wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts.”
Venezuela stated the US had carried out strikes on Caracas and the coastal states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira early Saturday.
Trump had repeatedly threatened Venezuela with navy motion in current months as tensions with Maduro soured over what the Trump administration says are drug trafficking networks within the nation. Caracas has maintained that Washington’s purpose is to overthrow the Venezuelan authorities.
