After Cara West grew to become a mom in 2022, she started rethinking the type of life she wished for her household. She grew more and more involved about the price of residing within the US, the dearth of neighborhood she felt in Houston, and the standard of schooling her little one may obtain.
“I thought of the potential for moving abroad to live more affordably and comfortably,” West, 35, informed Enterprise Insider. “I did not need my little one to attend a conventional public college within the US, and I wished to teach her through travel and real-life experiences.”
The next 12 months, West and her household examined out residing in Lisbon for just a few months. In Portugal, they discovered a decrease price of residing and a top quality of life that higher aligned with how West and her husband wished to lift their daughter.
