Samsung Electronics and its associates will make investments a mixed $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, a man-made intelligence infrastructure firm launched by international funding agency KKR and backed by AI darling Nvidia.
Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it’ll make investments $500 million, with Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance coverage and Samsung Fireplace & Marine Insurance coverage contributing the rest.
The funding comes as Helix seeks to deal with rising competitors within the AI infrastructure market by focusing on each information heart deployment and the underlying energy infrastructure wanted to help it.
The deal additionally permits Samsung to leverage capabilities throughout its associates, spanning semiconductors and cooling techniques to information heart building and batteries, because the group seeks to develop its position within the international AI infrastructure buildout.
Shares of Samsung Electronics rose 2.13% Tuesday morning, whereas the benchmark Kospi index fell 0.53%.
